1.1 billion people have to wash, bathe and drink with dirty water
Different from other western lifestyles
But using the dirty water may be normal to some people
You would have to take in someone else’s emotions like giving your baby dirty water, you might feel guilt.
Taking the long hike or walk to get the water and also lugging it back.

Although the children may not know, the older women know about the dangers of drink contaminated water. However it is their only choice. They do have to travel a far way to get water but this is because town facilities were never put in or broke down because they weren’t looked after.

The mother might feel guilty about given her children contaminated water but she could also feel helpless because she doesn’t have a choice. The children may not know what is going on and therefore, don’t have a change in perspective. The child might be thinking about how long the trip will take

For 1.1 billion people to use dirty water isn’t right. To use that water for our day to day lives is horrible. In my life we would try and stay away from the dirty water.

Motherly instinct. Both mothers want the best for their children but only one of the two can really provide that. While the other one has to make do with whats around

1.1 billon people. have to drink, bath and clean with dirty water. that is the same population of north America and Europe.

to a westerner that statistic and contaminated water is disgusting but to a person who has to deal with dirty water everyday it must be normal but there is guilt from the mothers and it just not right.

- As we did some further research, I now know that women have a danger of being kidnapped.

- Some of the younger women in the picture may be a target of forced marriage after being kidnapped.

The lady may be thinking about how there will be a line at the water hole and how she may have to wait with her children to get water.
She may be thinking about how she might get hurt at the water hole.
To understand this woman’s perspective even better I might need to know;
- how her household is like
- who is in her family
- if she lives near water, or very far away from it

In this video, I realised the guilt that the mother might have felt whilst giving the baby dirty water. If I was in her place, I wouldn’t have wanted to wash the dishes or have my children play in the dirty water as they can get sick.

This is probably what the mothers around the world think when they may be giving their children dirty water but they may have no choice.

when people don’t have clean water, they think using clean water may be normal.
