Great use of manipulatives to bring a better understanding of learning. Would placing the high kids in the other two groups help the other students reach a higher goal.

"Struggle is good. It shows that you're trying." Best thing I heard from a kid in Hysten's class. Saw enrichment group, co-teaching for two separate skills, hands on opportunities, and a chance for kids who might be introverted have the choice to not be in a group, but still work on the same skill and have the opportunity to join the group if they wanted too. Great job Hysten and King!

All students were learning at their current level. The enrichment group in the back was working independently because they had already reached a certain level where they could now work toward mastery/commended level. Students that were struggling were given Algebra tiles to help the content become visual for them. Students in the middle group were helped to get started and then left to struggle and only helped when they were truly stuck. This was an excellent example of “productive struggle” in the classroom.
