This hook uses the strategy of putting in scientific-sounding fluff to make their product seem appealing. For example, "Immune Plus," and, "supercharged." It makes it look healthy with the amount of nutrients they're putting out, like zinc, vitamin D, and "more vitamin C than 10 oranges." This makes it enticing because now you feel like if you get their product, you'll be healthier, faster, stronger, and overall more energized. It seems like a (legal) outside boost to your body.

The reader does not want to stop reading when a plane goes down and people might get killed, they want to read on for a possible solution to end on a good note. And not only that, they probably have a lot of questions because at only a couple sentences into the story they would have to infer a lot.
