Usually, it doesn’t rain in the desert they are in because none of the animals and plants can survive, and the miners keep digging because they really want the treasure.

“It takes just one thing to bring out that treasure: men. Men willing to go out into the heat, and down into the mines.” (page 9)
In the first piece of text evidence used explains how it does not rain and how it is hard to survive in the desert, not only for people but also for plants and animals. In my second piece of text evidence, it explains how important the treasure is and even though how hot and dangerous it is the men want it so bad because of whatever is in the treasure.
