I was new to the team, but was added to a AAU team with incredibly high expectations and was expected to essentially be one of the best players even though I just started playing for them.

• Exercise:

Exercising releases endorphins. This is a chemical that naturally reduces stress and promotes overall well-being. Similar to Adrenaline.

• Mindfulness

Practices like deep breathing can help calm the mind, leading to lower stress levels. Additionally, leaving others business like not getting into others drama will also leave their own problems out of your life. This way you won't be stressed out because of their own personal business.

• Healthy Lifestyle

Prioritizing your hours of sleep, along with, balanced diets, and regular hydration will lead to your body feeling healthy and not sluggish. If your body is operating under unhealthy conditions, your mind will respond with feelings of sadness, depression, anxiety, leading to wanting to eat more of those unhealthy products.

• Social Support

Sharing and venting to your family and friends is always a good outlet because of the fact that you can talk to people you already have a trusting bond and relationship with.

• Time Management

Organizing your priorities for tasks, setting realistic goals, and breaking bigger tasks into smaller, more achievable goals can lower your stress levels because its less time consuming for each task. It's also a stress reducer because organizing limits you having to think on-the-go.

• Hobbies

Engaging in activities you enjoy like reading, drawing, playing sports, etc. Is a great stress reliever since you remain focused on that thing you enjoy the most.

• Limiting Social Media Usage

Reducing exposure to stressful content and taking breaks from social media platforms and devices promote mental well-being since you will no longer remain focused on problems or posts that make you compare yourself to the author.

• Seeking Professional Help

If the stress in your life becomes overwhelming, talking to a school counselor, personal advisor, or personal therapist for support and guidance is a way to relieve stress and get whatever it is off of your chest.

• Establishing Boundaries

Learning to say no when necessary is an essential way of setting boundaries and prioritizing self-care. This can prevent burnout and be stressed to live up to your friends and family's expectations of you.

Sometimes when I feel to stressed out or a situation made me angry out of control, I like to relieve myself by hitting things that don't have worth to me. A better example of this hitting on a punching bag or hitting your pillow. Since biologically, stress -> anger -> violence, hitting random soft objects is a natural stress reliever and prevents me from hurting myself in that moment and the future.

• Avoidance

Ignoring stressors rather than addressing them directly can lead to unresolved and lingering problems in life

• Substance Abuse

Turning to drugs or alcohol as a coping mechanism can increase problems you may already have, create more problems, and harm mental health

• Procrastination

Delaying tasks due to stress can create additional pressure when the deadline becomes undelayable and a cycle of increased anxiety for the future.

• Isolation

Withdrawing from social connections can intensify feelings of loneliness because of the primary fact that you have to much time in your own head. That may lead to recreating even more stressful situations

•Over/Undereating

Subconsciously using food as a way to cope can lead to unhealthy eating habits and impact physical well-being as well as an overall lifestyle change.

• Technology

Excessive use of screens, gaming, or social media may provide a temporary distraction, which would make it a good stress reliever. But overusing it for long periods of time can contribute to stress in the long runs by creating unhealthy habits.

• Bottling Up Emotions

Bottling up your emotions and shoving them deep down is like starting a fire. It starts out as a little spark. More wind and wood will eventually contribute to the fire getting bigger. At some point, that flame will grow incredibly large and burn for a period of time.

• Self-Criticism

Constantly talking yourself down rather than seeking solutions for a situation will intensify feelings of stress and sadness

• Sleep Deprivation

Disrupting sleep patterns by staying up late or having an irregular sleep pattern can negatively impact physical and mental health.

• Ignoring Mental Health Needs

Neglecting to address mental health concerns and seeking professional help when need can lead to long-term issues.
