This can include: setting goals, adjust reading speed, check for understanding, and making corrections when something is not understood.&nbsp;<br><br>Advantages:<br>*students take responsibility for their own learning<br>*begin to recognize when text does not make sense<br>*it is done all the time as students read<br>*this will help students know if they need to change something in the future<br><br>Disadvantages:<br>*students do not realize they are doing this until they do not understand something<br><br>Scaffold for ELL: ELL students could use a graphic organizer to help them monitor. This is a visual tool that will expand their vocabulary and improve their reading. This is also beneficial becasue it is hands-on. </div>]]></description>
