It is important not just to be a good teacher, but to be able to push for greater equality and access to education in the classroom. A good teacher has a philosophical background and understanding of where teaching came from and where it is going and takes an active role in shaping its formation. One must be willing to challenge the norms if they genuinely believe it can help improve teaching as a whole.
