The environment suffers when people do not recycle and throw their garbage straight in to the environment.

These bodies of waters are important to the wildlife that lives in and around the body of water. Plastic and other recyclables in water can cause animals to accidentally ingest the waste. This can lead to animals becoming sick or can lead to their deaths. Animals can be affected even if they do not ingest the recyclable materials. One example, is that when the plastic rings that hold together aluminum cans are in water systems animals like fish, penguins, turtles and more ca get caught in the rings that can cause these animals to suffer.

If people were educated about the positive effects that recycling can have and the negative effects of not recycling can have then more people would be motivated to make the change and recycle. The effects of throwing a way even one recyclable item can have a lasting effect on the earth. We only get one world and we have to do what we can to protect it and that includes recycling.
