She is known for being the host of her own and popular program, The Oprah Winfrey Show, which aired for 25 seasons, from 1986 to 2011. In 2011, she launched her own TV network, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Oprah Gail Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954, in Mississippi. Oprah had a very troubled youth, living with her mother. So, she decided to move with her father at the age of 14, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a significant role model and under his strict guidelines Oprah Winfrey had her a-ha moment when a lightbulb came on in her head. She realized it was when she figured out that her thoughts control her whole life—that no matter what hand life deals her. She can always choose my response to it. We are each responsible for our lives and, more important, the thoughts that create them. If you want your life to be more rewarding, you must change the way you think.
