Supposedly Camp Green Lake was cursed as well because Kate Barlow got 'cursed' from the bad things she did with Sam. In the end, she didn't do anything bad, but they got punishment anyways. The power of fate comes into play when Stanley's family got cursed because of the promise his Great-great-grandfather broke. Now that he has friends he is "stronger." When Stanley came the others thought he wasn't as strong as the them but after he got a nickname he started to fit in more.
