We have lost interest because people have stopped trying to relate to things in the past and figuring how the events happening in myths relate to their present day life. People refer to read books and stories that give them a clear meaning and ending.

People have just lost interest in that sort of stuff. Technology has made these stories and myths non-existent because people can just look on the internet to find something if they want it. People today are more focused on the problems in today's society instead of focusing on myths that happened years ago. I wouldn't blame them though, that sort of stuff just doesn't interest me either.

Technology has rapidly advanced over time and we lost interest due to the fact we have better knowledge of science. Just like any other life situation, things do not matter as time passes. We gain more interest in other various things.

myths we're created in place to explain things that didn't have an explanation at the time. Now that we have answers---we don't have to imagine elaborate stories.

As a society, we get caught up in our daily lives so often that we do not read as much as we used to. Some people view reading, story telling, and learning history as things that should not be a priority because we have many other things that we have to accomllish in the present.

I think that we have lost interest because it's not what's "cool" or as talked about as much so some people may have just forgotten about mythology.

Myths used to be a way of explaining what we could not, as science has progressed we learned that some of our beliefs were not entirely correct. Science has shown us that there is no scientific back up for things like Dragons, Mermaids, the Easter Bunny, or Arbor Day... Yet.

people find it hard to identify with stories that include "higher power" intervention. We lost a magical part of our lives. So no myths.

As science has developed, we have lost faith in anything that doesn't seem scientifically possible, which includes myths. It's very similar to the way in which religion has taken more of a back seat which we discussed at the beginning of Hamlet while evaluating our generation.

Over time, our culture has lost interest in storytelling. It was once a big part of the lives of the people in the past. It no longer plays a role in our lives, because we have new forms of storytelling. We have television, books, comics, etc. It is no longer a cultural norm to sit by a fire and tell stories.

As technology increased through the times, myths, folk tales and past civilization's culture and stories got lost through translation and lack of relaying the stories to new generations. The less we were taught about them, and the more we had to explore else where, the less we cared about the myths that were once so important.

I dont think people have lost as much interest as you think, although i do think that what they beleive has changed. It is easier to beleive in one all knowing god that you can not see, rather than to have to believe in a whole group of gods that you can not see.

As time brings more people and new traditions and needs within the world. Ideas and wants in the world change as well. Mythology was age old, however it lost to new ideas within the world.

i think that the problem is that we are not exposed to it, not that we aren't interested. The story of Perseus in "The Lightning thief" drew much attention both in its book form and the movie.

I think it's because our generation is becoming more involved with themselves and they don't have that interest anymore. They also think that since we have the internet that if they had to know something about it they could just look it up on google and read some words and then finish their project and be done. They don't have any interest in the Ancient Greek mythology like people used to.
