El primer paso en todo proceso volitivo es la determinación, es decir, la firmeza de nuestra voluntad que nos impulsa a la acción. En otras palabras, estaríamos hablando de un estado de ánimo que nos predispone de una determinada manera.
 En conclusión convirtiendoce en proceso volutivo, es decir; la capacidad a decidir, sobre una toma de decisión o conducta.
