Hello! My name is Katherine Britt and you can call me, "Kat." I graduated from nursing school back in 2001 from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

School, work & life
I currently work as a graduate research assistant at The University of Texas at Austin for a Senior Research Scientist, Dr. Kathy Richards, on her research study examining restless legs syndrome in older adults with dementia. I live in Austin, Texas with my family.

Why graduate school
I am enrolled in graduate school to learn more about research and teaching. I am working on my MSN and PhD in hopes of gaining a tenure-track faculty position at a research-intensive university one day.

Strategy
I will utilize the strategy of outlining my assignment using the grading rubric versus looking at the rubric just before I submit an assignment. That way I can plan ahead and make sure my work aligns with what was asked for.

What I want to Learn 
I would like to learn how to engage policy to improve health outcomes for persons with dementia focusing on spiritual care support.
