Hitting may not seem tough but it actually is very hard and you need to be spot on with your swing technique to be successful. Your swing consists of 4 motions, Setting your feet, Your load, Your swing, and Your finish. During these 4 steps you must make sure you do them correctly or you will often find your self barely making contact and hitting it weakly or just flat out missing the ball. To the game the correct swing is a must.

Before your swing even begins you need to have your feet set. First start to get your feet even with each other and set them a little longer than shoulder width. Then get a little bend in your knees. Now your feet are properly set.

Your load is where you generate the most power for your swing. Depending on the pitchers speed of his pitch start to get your load going as he releases the ball. You are going to move your hands back. And at the same time if you prefer you can add in a step with your leg or a stride. But if you do step make sure you step towards the pitcher or it will throw your swing off, now you begin your swing.

First and most importantly always watch the ball. Second you are going to violently twist your hips and throw your hands at the ball. That means you are going throw your top hand through the zone or nob to the ball and your bottom hand must follow and it should be pulled through and be aimed almost upward. If you did you load incorrectly and you stepped towards the plate your head would turn and you would be looking down third base and your swing would be messed up and your shoulders would fly open, so make sure you try to keep your shoulders closed off and not open them up cause then you would cause your hands to not take the correct route to the ball. Lastly at contact extend your hands through the ball almost like you are pushing on the ball.

As soon as you make contact your finish comes into play. First, depending on what you prefer you can either keep both hands on the bat or take your top hand off the bat and continue the swing. Make sure you keep your base solid after your hit don't fall over cause that will delay the time taking you to get to the base. As well being unbalanced in your finish is a sign that you have made an error in your swing. Now RUN!
