I explored Gibbs and Rolfe's reflective model.

Gibbs reflective model

One of the famous reflective models with six steps exploring experience developed by Graham Gibbs in 1988. He made a structure to learn with experience which also helps to examine experience. The major aim of the cycle is to find out that following individual to learn and plan from things that either went well or didn't go well.

Rolfes reflective model

In 2001 professor Gracy Rolfe and colleagues describe a useful framework for self-reflection and it's based on three simple questions what, so what, and now what.

What?- describes that a particular situation then focuses on achievements, consequences, responses, feelings, and any problems.

So what?-discuss what you have learned about yourself, relationships, models, attitudes, cultures, actions, thoughts,

understanding, and any improvements.

Now, what?-identify what you need to do in the future in order to improve future outcomes and develop your learning.

ABOUT INDUCTION:
It was one of my dreams to study at an international university like Coventry University. I feel very happy to share my experience with the first two induction classes.

I was really excited at the same time nervous to attend the classes on 17th May 2021 as it was the first class with Coventry University. Even though the class was held on an online platform (ZOOM), the session was really exciting and interesting. The whole session was conducted by Course Director Mr.Rob Wilson and during the session, he introduced three more educators; Mr. Issac Obeng, Mr. Nitish Gaur, and Ogechi Ohademore. During the class, students got an opportunity to interact with other fellow learners too. In an ice-breaking session, in break-out rooms, it was very funny to do two truth and one lie activity. I felt a little nervous in the first session. However, the interaction with other students from different parts of the globe made me delighted in the session. Mr.Rob conducted a welcome quiz that assessed the participant's basic knowledge about the United Kingdom. He shared some interesting information about the UK. The session made me curious to search more about the UK and the City of Coventry. At the end of the class, all the educators clarified the queries of students regarding the upcoming schedules and online learning applications.

The second induction class was on 24th May 2021 facilitated by Ms.Ogechi Ohadomere. This class was more informative and interactive with other students in the form of group discussions. In the first group discussion, students were assigned to identify and discuss with group members the three leadership skills which they wish to develop or improve personally. This group session helped me to critically reflect on my leadership qualities. The content of the second group session was something different. There we discussed the expectations from the course, helpful learning strategies, and common doubts. After each group discussion, a representative from each group presented the group's common idea. It was a great experience with Ms.Ogechi that she could give us a lot of valuable information and tips regarding course works and personal development. The activities she assigned at the end of the session were really helpful to understand the tool called “Padlet Wall”.Many students clarified their doubts and shared their concerns.
With the help of this induction session, it would be easier in the future to represent these, reflective models, in our presentations and other coursework. And also self-study and group discussions will help the learning interesting.

SKILLS IN LEADERSHIP

Problem-solving

skills at solving issues that arise on the job. Effective problem-solving often requires staying calm and identifying a step-by-step solution. Problem-solving skills can help make quick decisions, resolve obstacles within the team and external teams in order to achieve the desired goal.

Relationship building (team building)-

The ability to build and maintain a strong and collaborative team of individuals working towards the same goal.

Authenticity

True to be yourself to be a leader. It encourages the team to be the same, and diverse and inclusive teams have more commitment, creativity, and fun compared to people who are trying to be like someone and covering up their original self.
