Often during meetings, I am trying to get things moving along and I am not fully engaged in what my employees are sharing back, I am looking to solve the problem fast and move along.

When someone does not understand the point I am trying to get across.

When someone goes off topic and I am thinking of how I will bring them back to be able to move on or wrap up the conversation. Especially when I have another commitment after the meeting or am hungry.

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by everything I have to get done that I struggle to slow down and take time. I have an urge to focus on the agenda items and keep it moving.

When in meet if the tone of the person apeaki is off, I tend to stop listening

Listening to someone complain. I automatically want them to see the positive side of the situation but that sometimes leaves them feeling like I’m not understanding them.

One example is when I am giving directive to staff so we can meet a deadline and a few staff are trying to derail what is being explained in order to cut corners and get things done sooner

When I have alot to get done, especially when I am focused on something already, and someone is trying to talk to me about a different topic

It burns my grits when I have to listen to someone and I know they are lying. It feels insulting to my intelligence

When the agenda is set and the time is set and the meeting leader cannot stick to the timeframe needed. I shut down well before the end.

Trouble Listening

Listening is hard when the person has a dismissive and critical attitude and they display these behaviors often
