This is just a sample schedule and can be modified to meet your families needs. I know this time is hard on everyone, and I am thinking of you all. I will have Kindergarten "office hours" and will be available to talk/FaceTime/answer questions from 2-3pm every weekday by appt. Hearing and seeing me can help motivate the students to do their work!
1. Morning Routines- brush hair, brush teeth, get dressed, eat a healthy breakfast (This will help keep them in a routine and get them ready to learn.)
2. Fluency and Sight words or Phonics (letter sounds). Practice the sight word cards you have received. Review the sounds that all letters make. YouTube has great videos to practice sight words with. (Molly's Simple Songs and Jack Hartmann are great YouTube Channels)
3. Read 1-2 books. www.getepic.com., is a great online resource where you can read a book or have one read to you! (please send me your email so I can add you to our class) You can also read a book at home, or the leveled readers that were sent home. Ms. LeJeune would love for you to post videos of yourself reading on Class Dojo so that I can see how well you're doing!! :)
4. Write 2-3 sentences about the story. What did you see? Who is the story about? What did you love about the story? Remember to include details and we always want "high-quality work". <3
5. Recess/Outdoor play/Lunch. Sunshine and fresh air are so important. Let your imagination grow as you play and make up games outside!
6. Eureka Math- show your parents how much you've learned and complete at least one lesson in Module 4. Teaching Independent Learners is the BEST youtube channel for Eureka Math lessons. Then complete the corresponding workbook pages for the lesson you've done. When you've finished all of Module 4, you can move on to Module 5. You can post pictures of your Math work for Ms. LeJeune and all of your friends to see as well!
7. Complete one Science or Social Studies lesson on a topic you choose! You can do an experiment, collect living vs. non living things, bake something, learn about our history, whatever interests you! Then write a few sentences telling us about you've learned.

Remember, the bulk of your child's time should be spent playing, using their imagination, learning outside, etc. You can complete their school work in just 2-3 short hours spread over the course of the day. Please don't try to force them to do school work for 8 hours. We don't even do that much during school :)

Reading and Writing Resources

You've gotten ready for the day! Now its time to "race to read"

Practice those sight words so we can be fluent readers! Sing songs and dance with them too.

Read a few books from getepic.com, a book from home, or the reader sent home with you. Practice retelling the important events to a grown up or a big sibling. You can even record yourself reading and retelling to show Ms. LeJeune! Write 2-3 sentences about the story. Remember to put your FIRST AND LAST NAME on top so we know who the author is!

Start at Module 4 Lesson 1 and complete 1-2 lessons a day. Since we've already covered the bulk of Module 4, maybe you can practice teaching your parents or siblings! :) You can move into Module 5 once you've finished module 4. Complete the corresponding workbook page after each lesson.

Science/Social Studies

Watch a video on a topic you are interested in! You can draw a picture and write a few sentences about what you have learned. Keep it in a journal and bring it back to school so you can show me what all you have learned! I would love to hear about some experiments or baking that you are doing as well, you can post those videos on Class Dojo!
