Using 5 vocab. words from your [Vocab. 681-690 set {travail --> colloquy}], answer the following questions about "Teenagers and Chores." (1.) Why should teenagers contribute to their households? (2.) What's wrong with letting parents take care of everything (ex: cleaning after everyone/pets, paying rent/mortgage/bills, cooking meals, taking out trash, doing laundry, maintaining the patio/yard, washing the car, disciplining kids, making sure homework is done, etc.)? (3.) What does having chores teach teenagers? What does having chores/taking responsibility teach you as a young adult? (4.) Name the chores you help your parents/guardians with and explain why you help out. (5.) How can you contribute more around the house? Can you commit to consistently helping your parents/guardians maintain your living space (keeping your room clean, entertaining/cleaning after your pets, completing your homework everyday)? // Reminder: your parents work to provide for you, buy you the things you need, and put you through private education to ensure you are learning in a safe environment, and it is only fair if you do your part now that you are a young adult (even if you have a maid/even if you are well off).

1. I believe that teenagers should contribute to their households simply to help out. Often times, our parents come home tired from work and the house is messy. This leads to them continuing to work at home. In other words, they work at their jobs, and they come home and continue to work. Another reason I think that kids should help around is to help them get used to life when they live alone. They might need practice with common chores so that when they begin to live alone, it isn't so hard on them. One thing that I find wrong with letting parents handle everything around the house is that they're spoiling their children. They're accustoming their children that everything has to be done for them. Having chores teaches children to be responsible and to live a clutter-free life. Some of the chores I do around the house are folding my bed, washing the plate that I eat on, putting the dishes in their correct place, putting clothes in the washer and then the dryer, folding my clothes, and cleaning my room. I also help around with my dogs.

1. Teenagers should be required to contribute to their households. It greatly helps parents and everyone in the family should contribute some kind of help.
2. If parents take care of everything, kids will never become self disciplined and learn how to do things on their own.
3. Travail (n) teaches teens about self discipline and learn how to do things on their own.
4. At my house I take complete care of the 3 pendulous (adj) looking dogs. Walk them, feed them, bathe them, etc. The verve (n) of all the dogs causes me to need to walk them at least twice a day. I also have to keep my room clean and set and clean the dinner table.
5. I could probably do a better job keeping my vacuous (adj) room clean. Although I clean it every few days, I could do it a little more often. Sometimes my dad will tease me and pretend that he knows about taxonomy (n) by saying I am lazy.

Teenagers should have the goad (v.) to contribute around the household because you are living in your parents house. They provide the house and your food the least you can do is to help around the house.
2) Letting your parents do everything for you doesn't benefit anyone. It doesn't benefit your parents because they'll be stressed, and it doesn't benefit you since you won't have as much self discipline as you could. So have the verve (n.) to help out your parents.
3) Chores teach teenagers self discipline and self responsibility. When they go to move out they will be exhilarated(v.) to do chores at there own new house.Taking responsibilities teach you as a young adult because it will help you for your life time. Becoming an adult is becoming independent to be independent already to prepare yourself.
4) The chores I help my parents with is keeping my areas clean. I like to keep my room kept up so my mom doesn't have to clean it, I throw the laundry in the laundry room so she doesn't have to go around grabbing it, and I keep my bathroom clean so she doesn't have to clean that as well. Its vacuous(adj.) not to help out with your daily chores.
5) I could help more by helping with dinner and setting the table. So my parents don't have to spend as much time doing what they don't have to. To consistently do chores isn't as easy as it sounds,

1. Teenagers live under their parents and are pretty expensive. The least we could do is help out around the house.
2. Helping out around the house is a small gesture that goes a long way. Homework is our responsibility and parents should really stay out of it. We are old enough to know what we need to do.
3. Chores teach teens responsibility. They also allows us to help out around the house. Chores can also teach us how to manage our time.
4. I take out the garbage and recycling big, clean the table after dinner, and some nights wash the dishes.
5. Sometimes my room gets a little messy and my mom has to ask me to clean up but I could do it before she has to ask.
