It's after the civil war that segregation is beginning. In 1908, the segregation is established for every school and during up 1954, at the same date like history of the film. At that time, women was considered like inferior of men all the more if she's black. In this society, white people do not mix with colored people and women don't have a important place. It's for this that black people and a lot of women was a past very difficult on U.S.A. From 1876 to 1964, the jim crows laws was separate people according to our race. But other laws was established in 1964 and their goals are so different. Indeed they are made to stop segregation on U.S.A.. These laws was totally established 3 years after votes.
