Deforestation is a human activity that involves

the elimination of trees in forest. Causes for

deforestation are because of creating more land

for housing, urbanization, timber, cash crops, or even

firewood. So how does this connect with evolution?

Evolution, as we know can affect any living specie, so

with that in mind, when deforestation occurs some

birds, such as a toucan which are large beaked birds

and eat large seeded fruit, become alert of the

decreasing amount of trees which are their food supply

so they migrate to other environments for safety and

food. The trees however, have became dependent on the

toucans to spread their large seeds and help them reproduce

but now that the toucans have fled the trees must evolve and

change their seeds from large to smaller in order for smaller

birds to be able to eat the fruit and help disperse the seeds

so the trees wont become endangered or even extinct.

http://science.time.com/2013/05/31/how-human-activity-

and-extinctions-are-driving-evolution/

In theory, evolution is all about adapting. Species evolve in order to survive and reproduce. Survival of the fittest, which states that only the strong survive. As humans, we do anything in order to evolve. We cut down forest, pollute our environment, and even cause other species to become extinct. For example, in Zambia elephants who have no tusks live longer than those elephants with tusks. Female elephants with no tusks went from 10 to 40 percent in the last 40 years. This is due to poachers who kill a whole elephants just for a few inches of ivory.

Human activity such as global warming causes evolutionary change in our climate. Right now we are in an extreme drought, regarding heat. That heat causes glaciers to melt and water levels to increase. When the water levels increase we are more prone to floods in areas of our world. Our fault in this is simple. We use so many substances that pollute our air; such as: hairspray, gasoline, cigarette smoking, air fresheners, car ignition, refineries, and etc. Because of this we have animals that are use to land, but now have to adapt to water. For example, the sea turtles weren't always adapted to the sea. They once roamed the land with ease, but because of the water levels rising the turtles had to find a way to survive. So instead of normal legs the started to breeding turtles with fin like limbs.

Some human activities can be harmful to different species. But overtime, evolution can take its toll and these species can become resistant to such activities. For example, water pollution has become one of the biggest human activities negatively affecting aquatic species. While the dumping of trash and oil spills harm and kill aquatic animals, there are some advantageous evolutionary changes, specifically with fish. Special chemicals get dumped in lakes, oceans, and ponds. These chemicals can harm a fish's immune system forming tumors and such. But thanks to evolution, studies show fish and other aquatic animals have become more resistant to these chemicals.

Humans affect animals in various types of ways. Even we are self's are affected as people get acne yet we cant go through evolution fast enough to not have it. For example the north pole has polar bears dying just because of a 1-2 degree celcius temperature rise. The emissions we release are disastorus to are future. Evolution in my belief can not go at such a fast pace that polar bears could evolve to live in warmer weather or swim constantly. In this case we will continue to see various species die due to are over use of earth and evolution being so slow as it is.

I believe human activity does affect evolutionary changes in our environment. Human add to the global warming that is going on with that of factories, just by using them contributes to global warming. Our trucks and cars contribute to global warning, if humans take evolutionary precautions we can cut back and go green the addition of global warming we are contributing can far be less. This is why it is fall right now it its about 90 degrees. Human activity not only put other humans in danger but also other species of animals by cutting down rain forests and building resorts for our entertainment and "benefit" but where just harming the environment and species helping the environment around us.

Human activity affect many things in this world. We cause massive air pollution which causes our earth temperature to rise rapidly which causes polar ice caps to melt. When the ice caps begin to melt the ocean waters temperature will also change causing massive storms to form and destroy many habitats and even cities.

Human actions are increasing the rate of evolutionary changes in plants and animals in ways that may hurt their long-term prospects for survival. Hunting, commercial fishing and some conservation regulations may all work against a species health. Researchers from several Canadian and American universities found that rates of evolutionary change were 3 times higher in species subject to harvest selection than in other species. They say the data they analyzed suggested that size at reproductive maturity in the species under pressure had shrunk in 30 years or so by 20 percent, and that organisms were reaching reproductive age about 25 percent sooner. Commercial fishing nets and other gear that comply with conservation regulations typically trap large fish while letting smaller ones escape. So because of human activities, the large fish may die off and the smaller fish will rule the population.
