Identity diffusion is when a child is unaware of who they are and what they identify them selves as. They find them selves unable to commit to one thing, but they also don't have a high rate of exploration.

Personal: When I was younger I had little to no experiences with anything besides friends and family. So I was really never able to explore myself in different ways. What i did know or had an opinion on was the same as my family. This was not at all my identity.

In this stage the child's life is based off of what their parents hand down or want them to do. they have choices but nothing large. the child's commitments are based of their parents choices, just as everything else.

During this stage I was involved in soccer, and tee-ball mainly because my parents wanted me to be in sports because they both were. neither played instruments, so they never tried to get me into that.

At this stage the child will start to explore, but with low commitment. they may find somewhere they want their identity to go but still undecided.

At this point I had dropped soccer and stuck with the sport of Tee-ball as well as coaches pitch. So i had the idea of me wanting to stick with athletics rather than arts. I also began to explore the sport of football by going to games, watching games on TV, as well as playing it with friends.

They have full commitment finding who they are and what they wanted to be.
At this stage I found my love for the outdoors and football. Made best friends, and found many hobbies.
