(This generation doesn't have a matter with “new technology”, any gadgets, network, social network for them is a present, they don’t imagine themself without it. Let’s get a short characterization to this generation. I would notice such important details:

They are self-contained and easily adaptable: Imagine, young student get in an alien city without money and familiars. He will find an exit from this situation more probably then a person from the older generation. Google maps, couch surfing, blablacar, generation z will use them.

They are ready for instability. All your life in a rented apartment? It isn’t problem. Move to another city in search of a better life? Give me urbania! The younger generation differs from the 50-year-olds in that they are not so tragic about instability in their lives. One of the reasons is the same light adaptability.

Conformists - this generation is less inclined to rebellion(бунт), since it does not see the enemy in the face of the past generation. Their parents spent more time with them than with other generations, so they are more friends than enemies(враг).

Appreciate(ценить) relationships - this is what social networks cultivate. Even a foreign friend on Facebook will be closer than a neighbor just because of common interests, the ability to have access to someone else's online life.

They value the family - distance work is now very popular, if forty years ago children hardly saw their parents at home (left for the factory in the morning, returned late), modern parents spend much more time with their children because of the opportunity to work "at home"

More information - in one day they process as much information as they did all their lives a hundred years ago.

Clip thinking - due to an overabundance of information, young people are no longer ready to perceive everything. This explains the hundreds of likes under the photo with the cat and at least under the long quote from Hegel. The Instagram feed is overflowing with gigabytes of information that a young student "has to" process. Infographics and memes are our everything.

Multi-tasking - A Gen Z representative can read, text, and listen to music at the same time. A student can easily jump from one topic to another; his smartphone can have several tabs. As a result, it feels great in the multitask mode.

Procrastination - the modern student will find it increasingly difficult to follow the rules and frameworks ("deadlines"), since the variety of choice of actions is very large, and can often interfere with focusing on one thing. Especially when it comes to frames and timing.

Creativity - they develop it against the background of tons of life hacks from Instagram and YouTube. Before, in order to reinstall Windows, you had to call a friend, now you just need to find the corresponding video and follow the instructions. Making a shelf or decorating someone's birthday in an original way is not a problem.

And a few more observations - generation Z engages in sex much later, smokes much less than their predecessors, cultivates environmental protection and a healthy lifestyle.)

Very interesting to watch different generations. Usually people of the older generation like saying that the new generation is worse. But it isn’t so because each generation has themself advantages and faults. For example, my generation have internet and a lot of new technology, and if we get in an alien city, we don’t lose because we have a thing which we use. It is google map, blablacar, couch surfing and ect.

First, I want to be sure that my idea is correct. For this I want to visit those countries which I selected for relocation. For the beginning I think It would be Amsterdam and then Munich. I hope that after living there I will be able to understand exactly whether I can live abroad or not. These are the most important steps I think. People, attitude, medicine, spendings, - everything matters for better live.
Now We have enough money to pursue our idea.
Next step is to collect the documents. My company will help me with it. Then My husband and I will need to think about what we should take. I want to move easily without huge things that we have got. Even when I travel I only take a backpack. We do not have to think about transportation. And of course our cat) We probably need to do all the inoculation and understand how we will take him with us. Although our company provides us flat, I want to start looking for an apartment beforehand to subsequent our live. For this I will obviously need to make a research of districts, to understand how to get to work and etc.
After our relocation we would like to have a holidays for adaptation. As I am not changing my job I don’t need to look for it, but my husband should take care of his work. The main problem now is English. Yeah, it is my and my husband's headache. Now we are learning it, but it really difficult for us. I hope that we will speak fluently and correctly soon) In the meantime, we try to do our best.

It's used for things which are impossible or very unlikely.

I wish that I had a big house (I don't have a big house, but it's a nice idea!).

I wish that we didn't need to work today (we do need to work today, unfortunately).

I wish that you lived close by (you don't live close by).

I wish that John wasn't busy tomorrow* (he is busy, unfortunately).

We don't usually use 'wish' in this way for things that are really possible in the future. Instead, we use 'hope'.

I hope that you pass your exam (NOT: <del>I wish that you passed the exam</del>).

I hope that it's sunny tomorrow (NOT: <del>I wish that it was sunny tomorrow</del>).

I hope that Julie has a lovely holiday (NOT: <del>I wish that Julie had a lovely holiday</del>).

Wish + (that) + would:
On the other hand, we use 'would' with 'wish' in a little bit of a special way. It's generally used about other people who are doing (or not doing) something that we don't like and we want that person to change. It's not usually used about ourselves, or about something which nobody can change though, exceptionally, we do use it about the weather.

I wish that John wouldn't eat all the chocolate. (John does usually eat all the chocolate and I don't like it. I want him to change his behaviour!)

I wish that the neighbours would be quiet! I want you to change this.)

I wish that you wouldn't work late so often.

I wish that it would stop raining!

We don't usually use 'would' when there's no feeling that we want somebody to change their behaviour.

NOT: <del>I wish that tomorrow would be a holiday.</del> (Instead: I wish that tomorrow was a holiday.)

NOT: <del>I wish that I would work harder.</del> (It's strange to use 'wish' + 'would' about yourself, as you can change your behaviour if you don't like it!)

Wishes about the past

Wish + (that) + past perfect:
We can use 'wish' with the past perfect to talk about regrets from the past. These are things that have already happened but we wish they'd happened in a different way. This use of 'wish' is very similar to the third conditional.

I wish that I had studied harder at school. (I didn't study hard at school, and now I'm sorry about it.)

I wish that I hadn't eaten so much yesterday! (But I did eat a lot yesterday. Now I think it wasn't a good idea.)

I wish that the train had been on time. (But unfortunately the train was late, and so I missed my interview.)

Other uses of 'wish'

Wish + to + infinitive:
We can use 'wish' with the infinitive to mean 'would like'. This is very formal. We don't usually use a continuous tense with 'wish' in this case.

I wish to speak to the headmaster. (This means the same as 'I would like to speak to the headmaster'.)

I wish to go now.

Wish + object + to + infinitive:
In the same way, we can use 'wish' with an object and an infinitive.

I do not wish you to publish this article.

I wish these people to leave.

Wish + somebody + something:
This is used mostly in set phrases.

I wished him a happy birthday.

They wished us Merry Christmas.

In the era of coronavirus, a large number of companies, who makes smart watch and fitness bracelets, invented to place the oxygen sensor in the blood in their inventions. It helps to monitor your health and prematurely identify the problem.
I, as the owner of a fitness bracelet and a lover of all kinds of new products, could not pass by this idea. And I wanted to understand how it's work.

Of course, these companies didn't make up anything. They took it from professional devices. We know that when we breath the oxygen enters in all parts of our body and no doubt into the blood. It is through the blood that oxygen is distributed throughout the body with help of hemoglobin. And SpO2 shows the relationship between hemoglobin with O2 and total hemoglobin. The norm is an oxyhemoglobin content of about 96-99%.

So how does measurement work. Usually, fitness bands have two colors of LEDs and photodiode. The LEDs are red and infrared. First, hemoglobin absorbs light and depending on whether it contains oxygen or not, absorb light waves of different lengths differently. if length light is 650nm, deoxyhemoglobin absorbs it good, but oxyhemoglobin absorbs it bad. if length light is 950nm then vice versa. The light length of 650nm is red and 950 is infrared. It turns out that in order to determine the level of blood oxygen saturation, you need to know how much infrared and red light has been absorbed by hemoglobin.

Of course it's not that easy. It depends on many factors, for example skin, fat, thick arms. So develops use different algorithms, math statistics and other.

Today's grandparents are joining their grandchildren on social media, but the different generations' online habits couldn't be more different. In the UK the over-55s are joining Facebook in increasing numbers, meaning that they will soon be the site's second biggest user group, with 3.5 million users aged 55–64 and 2.9 million over-65s.

Sheila, aged 59, says, 'I joined to see what my grandchildren are doing, as my daughter posts videos and photos of them. It's a much better way to see what they're doing than waiting for letters and photos in the post. That's how we did it when I was a child, but I think I'm lucky I get to see so much more of their lives than my grandparents did.'

Ironically, Sheila's grandchildren are less likely to use Facebook themselves. Children under 17 in the UK are leaving the site – only 2.2 million users are under 17 – but they're not going far from their smartphones. Chloe, aged 15, even sleeps with her phone. 'It's my alarm clock so I have to,' she says. 'I look at it before I go to sleep and as soon as I wake up.'

Unlike her grandmother's generation, Chloe's age group is spending so much time on their phones at home that they are missing out on spending time with their friends in real life. Sheila, on the other hand, has made contact with old friends from school she hasn't heard from in forty years. 'We use Facebook to arrange to meet all over the country,' she says. 'It's changed my social life completely.'

Teenagers might have their parents to thank for their smartphone and social media addiction as their parents were the early adopters of the smartphone. Peter, 38 and father of two teenagers, reports that he used to be on his phone or laptop constantly. 'I was always connected and I felt like I was always working,' he says. 'How could I tell my kids to get off their phones if I was always in front of a screen myself?' So, in the evenings and at weekends, he takes his SIM card out of his smartphone and puts it into an old-style mobile phone that can only make calls and send text messages. 'I'm not completely cut off from the world in case of emergencies, but the important thing is I'm setting a better example to my kids and spending more quality time with them.'

Is it only a matter of time until the generation above and below Peter catches up with the new trend for a less digital life?

12-year-old in North Carolina used the downtime he had during the pandemic to take on a few extra classes in school. Now, one year later, Mike Wimmer, of Salisbury, is getting ready to graduate high school and college — in the same week. Wimmer completed four years of school in one year — two years of high school and a two-year associate's degree. He will graduate from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College on May 21, and from Concord Academy High School on May 28, where he is valedictorian. He said his GPA at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is 4.0, while his high school GPA is 5.45.

Can you remember a time when you woke up from a fantastic or strange dream? Maybe you were afraid and turned on the light or the dream was so good you wanted to sleep longer. But do you think your dreams are telling you something? Can you see the future in dreams? For hundreds of years, people thought dreams were messages from gods or spirits. Today, too, many people can remember a time when they saw a place or person in their dream and then, later, the dream happened in real life. Maybe that’s not surprising because we dream a lot but we probably only remember the times when something happens in a dream and then happens for real. Most people have four to six dreams every night after the age of ten. That’s as many as 2,000 dreams per year. So, an 80-year-old person has probably had 140,000 dreams. Maybe we forget 95–99 per cent of our dreams, but that’s still thousands of dreams that might ‘come true’.Are dreams recycled thoughts?Around the 18th and 19th centuries, there were two popular ideas about dreams. One said that the things we see in our dreams are things we keep in our subconscious because we don’t want or need to think about them when we’re awake. The opposite idea said that while we’re sleeping, the brain organises memories and thoughts from the day. Dreams are just random thoughts from our day but we try to make a story from them when we wake up.Are dreams messages from our brains? But perhaps both ideas are a little bit right. Maybe dreams are made from the thoughts we have during the day, but we see them as symbols. For example, a dream of flying might be a symbol for an exciting new job. When we’re awake, we think in words most of the time. But when we’re sleeping, the part of our brain that helps us with language sleeps, and the part that makes us happy or sad or angry is awake and busy. So, maybe our thoughts come to us in dreams as feelings and symbols instead of words. If you can understand these symbols, you have a window into your subconscious. If you want to understand the messages, you have to match them to what’s happening in your life. How can you understand the messages? One way to help you do this is to keep a dream diary. As soon as you wake up, write down everything you remember about your dreams. Use pen and paper, not your phone or computer because the light might wake you up and you’ll forget faster. Sometimes your eyes will be half-closed and your writing will be difficult to read. Now you can match your dreams to your daily life. Think about the people and place where the dream happened, as they might mean something too. Also, how you were feeling in the dream is important. If you were afraid instead of happy in the flying dream, maybe it means you are worried about the new job. Are you ready to find out what your subconscious is trying to tell you?

Today, social media has become a major part of numerous lives through countless websites and apps, and people have been able to connect with others and share their thoughts, emotions, experiences, etc. It’s been able to provide a source of entertainment and shopping, and many businesses have even found it useful for promotion and marketing. At this point, social media has had such a huge impact on society that it seems like people couldn’t live without it. However, with these advantages, social media has also had a number of disadvantages that have affected our lives. This includes the result of major problems having to do with mental health issues, insecurities about one’s self, and addiction.

The Pros

The main reason behind why social media seems to control so many people is its ability to benefit and support businesses and people in so many ways. Whether it’s promoting companies or reaching out to friends and family, social networking has shown to be a major advantage to almost anyone, anywhere.

If consumers like what they’re seeing, and if relationships are built between them and company workers, they’ll want to buy the product of the company. This can result in businesses being able to productively grow at a much faster rate. In an article titled 12 benefits of social media, and all the ways it can impact your business for good, Jessica Wells writes, “Right now, most companies have anywhere between four and 10 social profiles that they maintain. A strategy like this enables you to reach out to an older audience on Facebook, use an interesting image to connect with younger users on Instagram, and foster professional relationships and thought leadership through LinkedIn posts.”

Through social networking, workers are able to directly respond to clients who have questions, concerns, or suggestions about the product of the company. This will assure customers that companies are paying attention to their needs and desires, which in turn benefits both sides (company and buyers). In 10 Advantages of Social Media Marketing for Your Business, Blue Fountain Media writes, “Customers appreciate knowing that when they post comments on your pages, they will receive a personalized response rather than an automated message. Being able to acknowledge each comment shows that you are attentive of your visitors’ needs and aim to provide the best experience.”

Aside from businesses, social media has allowed people to connect with one another in a much easier, comfortable, and faster way.

In Top 5 benefits of the internet for entertainment, Allconnect talks about how social media’s different applications have allowed chatting to become much simpler to use, which has created multiple ways to chat without having to worry about going over a time limit.

Use of social media has even allowed people who are shy to feel more comfortable expressing themselves. In 21 Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Networking, it says, “About 1 in 4 teens say that their experiences on social media have helped them to feel less shy when interacting with others in real life. Almost 30% of the young people in that group say that these encounters help them to feel more outgoing, while 1 in 5 say that their confidence got a boost.”

Apart from comfort zones being broken, a major positive impact of social media has been its ability to save lives in desperate situations.

In 31 Eye-Opening Pros and Cons of Social Media Use, Develop Good Habits explained situations where people’s lives were saved during natural disasters. Through the quickness of social media, emergency help was able to receive the needed information and reach those people just in time.

The Cons

Even with all the benefits that are gained from social networking, social media has also caused issues related to mental health, self-confidence, and personal security.

In 2018, The University of Pennsylvania conducted a study involving 140 undergraduates either continuing their regular use of social media apps or limiting the amount to 10 minutes per day. In New Studies Show Just How Bad Social Media Is For Mental Health, Alice G. Walton writes, “As the researchers expected, people who limited their social media use to 30 minutes felt significantly better after the three-week period, reporting reduced depression and loneliness, especially those who came into the study with higher levels of depression. Interestingly, both groups reported less FOMO and less anxiety in the end, which the team suggests may just be a resulting benefit of increased self-monitoring.” FOMO stands for “fear of missing out.”

Is social media making more people insecure explains how many teens become very insecure by social media and feel pressured to do certain things that’ll make it seem like they are “cool” or living up to specific standards. A sense of competition could be created between friends and this could result in friendships being broken.

Cyberbullying has also been a big problem for many teens around the world, occurring whenever threats or comments are made online to hurt others, whether it’s intentional or unintentional. Social Media and Teens: How Does Social Media Affect Teenagers’ Mental Health says, “Teens girls in particular are at risk of cyberbullying through use of social media, but teen boys are not immune. Cyberbullying is associated with depression, anxiety, and an elevated risk of suicidal thoughts.”

With the impact of cyberbullying being a major problem, a lighter but still important problem has been a lack of productivity being shown among many students.

In 10 Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Media for Society, Bilal Ahmad talks about how social media has caused numerous teens to waste a lot of time doing things that aren’t as important, saying that “They get involved very extensively and are eventually cut off from the society. It can also waste individual time that could have been utilized by productive tasks and activities.”

Ahmad also goes on by explaining how easy it is for people nowadays to use scams that allow access to others’ private information. This could be very dangerous to one’s identity and security.

All in all, social media has been the cause of many advantages and disadvantages. Social media has helped many businesses grow and promote itself, and has helped people find a better way to connect and communicate with one another. On the other hand, it’s also provided many people with problems involving mental health, emotional insecurities, and waste of time. With social media being such a big part of people’s lives, it’s important to understand the impact it’s made and how it could affect the future of this world.

The Empire State Building

When exploring New York City, there are several different options for activities during a day trip. Some visitors come to see a show, visit art museums, or simply to shop in many of the city’s high-end retailers. However, many tourists simply come to New York City for the sightseeing. One of the most visited landmarks in New York City is the Empire State Building.

The Empire State Building, constructed in 1931, is a 102-story skyscraper, the ninth highest building in the world, and the fourth tallest structure in the United States. It is located in Midtown, Manhattan. This skyscraper is an iconic symbol of the city, having been featured in over 90 popular movies (as of 2018) throughout film history. Tourists come from all over the world to visit this building and view the city from its famous observation decks.

Matthew, an enthusiast of historic buildings, was excited for this trip to New York City because he has always appreciated architectural design. Matthew purchased a ticket that granted him access to beautiful 360-degree views of the city. The ticket included an elevator ride that stopped at two different vantage points, one at the 86th floor and the other at the rooftop observatory on the 102nd floor. From these observation decks, Matthew took incredible photographs of the entire New York City skyline. The rooftop views granted Matthew perfect aerial perspectives of Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, and many other important city landmarks.
