The amount of happiness and fulfillment (in my tummy and heart) I have when my family and I get burritos is indescribable. Every bite is the perfect bite. It has the most juicy steak, yummy rice, an adequate amount of spice, the vegetables is there but you cannot tell, (really great because I dont really like vegetables). Fun Fact: I actually never wanted to try burritos before because it just looks TOO much,so when my family goes to a Taqueria, I don't eat. Until about 2 years ago, my sister said, " try it, at least one bite" so I did. I feel like all the zoom classes are optional therefore I don't try and fix my sleeping schedule to wake up for my classes. Some teachers give TOO much and don't grade the work THEY give on time which makes me feel like the countless hours was just thrown away. I expect to be as helpful, open minded, and understanding throughout the whole course. AHL is not an easy thing to adapt to, and if I try to be those three little things, it can have a huge impact on myself and other people.

What do you hope to gain after completing this course?

I hope to gain more knowledge about the college setting since I am a Junior in High School already. Growing up is such a scary thing for me and going to college is a part of growing up, so I hope this class eases my fear and help me navigate through a college. I also hope to gain some knowledge about the Philippines culture and history, and hopefully I can apply it to my other classes and my club, Filipino Barkada. When the lesson you are being taught are so knowledgable, it will be empowering to share it with other folks!

What do you bring (skills, talents, knowledge, experiences) to our community?

My passion for knowledge about the Philippines culture, history, and everything that has to do with learning about my identity. I love learning when I can relate and see myself in the lectures that are being taught to me. I am  one of the officers of Filipino Barkada, in which I gain a lot of leadership skills as well. 

How can we support you to be your best self within our community?

My answer for this question ties in with the answer I gave for the first question, helpful, open-minded, and understanding. I think these three things can be practiced in all environments! If we all try to apply these in our daily lives, its helpful for everyone in this community!

How Mr. Goobs help you to become better?

I think motivation will be extremely helpful especially distance learning is a little draining and difficult at times hehe. Even though you were never my teacher, I still connected to you very easily because of the positive and honest personality you give off. Very rare for a teacher to have such a quick connection to their students so I applaud you for that!
