<title>Right now I am speaking from traditional Ohlone Huichin territory (known as SF). My reflections are based on my experiences with the immigrant community here: I am a community feminist because I feel patriarchal violence in my body and I see it impacting other girls&#39; and women&#39;s bodies. The &quot;community&quot; in &quot;feminist&quot; recognizes that I am interconnected with the bus driver, the house cleaner, the cook, the caregiver, the street vendor, the teacher, the unhoused, the drug &quot;addict,&quot; and those who also feel patriarchal violence in their bodies. I see them. </title>

<title>I am a leftist because I believe those who have been historically oppressed deserve to live dignified lives. My leftist thought has been inspired by the urban and guerrilla struggles of the 70s and 80s in what is known as El Salvador (or Kuskatan in Náhuat). Being a leftist is to honor those who were massacred/killed, forcibly disappeared, raped, and tortured. Their legacy matters. Being a leftist also means remembering their legacy and continuing to fight for the things they fought for. </title>

<title>I am 5,000 miles from where I took my first breath, a place I have struggled to remain connected to. I am a an immigrant, a formally undocumented student, and now a citizen. I am always unfolding and changing in ways I don&#39;t control, and shifting and morphing in ways undetectable by the eyes of the state. I am a person pushed out of schools who found healing in community. I am an organizer/activist/artist, I use poetry when academic words aren&#39;t enough to hold spirit. I am weaving hilos between/with everyone I meet, across space and time. I am a traveller across worlds in the here and now, yesterday, and tomorrows. I am in this body that shapes my existence, often against my wishes. It&#39;s soft contours hide the jagged edges, a weapon useful for many battles gone and coming. I am the daughter of rape and resistance. A colonial contradiction. A representation of an ongoing genocide and yet I exist fully as myself. I am brown, color of the earth. I am here as the embodiment of liberation in transition always and still I rest in the shadows where healing happens. I am more than me, I am you. I am a wanderer but I am not aimless. I am learning and remembering that my first breath gave me more than life, it gave me memories I must recall and use for the long journey back home. </title>
