Because of the jetty that the Navy made, the swell from the ocean hits the jetty and creates a wave called a Wedge. This is my favorite place to go take pictures at. it is a total rush being in the water. It is located up north near San Francisco. It has a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge and when you have really good lighting (like at sunrise or sunset) it can be so surreal. It is not called Surf City for nothing. when a southern swell hits this beach the conditions for surfing are perfect. Not really known for any shore break, but when you have surfers who are talented on one of these waves, they can be so fun to shoot. This beach can catch you off guard once in while which is why I think this wave is the scariest.
