Netflix is a subscriber based TV and Movie app which produces 50% of its own content.  It has a first month free no obligation policy, and then charges between 9.99 and 11.99 a month which can be cancelled at any time.
Netflix is now planning to shoot more of its content exclusively for the mobile market which is one of their biggest growing sectors.  They will create content in HDR format for the new generation of mobile devices including tablets and phones. They are also considering producing content with exclusive cuts just for mobile users.
They are also considering producing local content for specific local areas like non English speaking countries.

This is my choice of app called Waze and is totally free! Waze is the world's largest community-based traffic and navigation app. Drivers in your area who share real-time traffic and road info, saving everyone time and money.

Revenue :  Waze uses in-app location based advertising. It means that while you’re driving, you may see an advertisement of located near shops, restaurants and other small business. (when you arrive in Dublin, Grafton Street. it will give you an advertisement of "Brown Thomas")

Objective: IKEA wanted to establish whether Facebook could be used to acquire new customers and connect with existing ones to increase its sales. It needed to reach the audience most likely to be interested in IKEA products and todeliver results throughout the customer lifecycle, driving sales both online and in-store.

Strategy:  Working with the Dentsu Aegis Network agencies, Vizeum and iProspect, IKEA used geo-targeted Facebook adverts to drive real-world footfall. The ads featured calls to action related to IKEA sales offers. 

Measurement: Mobile operator EE analyzed device activity for those mobile numbers within a geo-fenced area around the IKEA Cardiff
store – removing staff, people who lived in the area and passers-by – and compared these against other mobile numbers
that had not been exposed to the creative.

Results: The striking increase of in-store visits that followed the campaign was clear proof: Facebook advertising has real impact on
retail footfall.

The app also lets you search by location to see whats going on around you while travelling the wild atlantic way. 
The app also has a guide on where to eat and different hotels.

The app is available to IOS and android phones. It offers an easy 3 step booking, built in boarding passes, easy access to your own ryanair page and instant live flight updates wherever you are. It is a free app. There are in app purchases and they make there money through people booking flights. They use QR codes for checking in when your at the airport to save time on queing up at desks to check in.

QR codes were displayed on Ipad ads, direct mail, in store displays and websites. People using different smartphones to scan the codes were sent to a mobile site which explained the benefits of DROID and the different apps available. 
In over 3 months the campaign received over 150,000 scans.
