This Symbol is the flag of Somalia, which is a white five pointed star on a blue background. The flag represents the five other African countries that Somali people are found. To me it represents my family's history because my parents immigrated from Somalia to Canada when they were teenagers. It also represents language and culture, that my parents have made sure to teach so I remember where we came from.

Hijab literally means to cover in Arabic. But in Islam it represents how you carry yourself how you speak, as well as the cover. It's a part of my identity because it shows my faith, it's a constant reminder for me to be a good person. It's the first thing people notice when they look at me, its a part of who I am.
