         <title>Chapter 1</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Chapter one, we learned about the Ceremony of 12. We didn't learn much about the Ceremony though. There were a lot of new Characters introduced. The Characters names were <strong>Jonas</strong>, <strong>lily</strong> (sister), <strong>Asher</strong> (Father). Jonas had a Mother but we never learned her name.<br>I also learned that every family needs to have a Father, Mother, a Son, and a Daughter. The Characters don't seem to have much emotion. Jonas also got startled from a crashing plane.<br><br><strong>Vocabulary<br></strong>1. Hatchery : A place where the hatching of fish or poultry eggs is artificially controlled for commercial purposes<br><br>2.          <description><![CDATA[<div>In Chapter two Jonas<strong><br></strong> had a discussion with his parents about the ceremony of 12. The parents said there's nothing to worry about. There isn't only one ceremony. There is a ceremony for every age up to 12. The ceremonies takes place every December. When children turn 9 they replace their comfort object (Stuffie) with a bicycle.<br><br><strong>Vocabulary</strong>  <br>1. Committee: a group of people appointed for a specific function, typically consisting of members of a larger group<br><br>2. Established: having been in existence for a long time and therefore recognized and generally accepted.<br><br><strong>Questions<br></strong>1.          <description><![CDATA[<div>In chapter three <strong>Jonas</strong> was tossing around an apple with his friend <strong>Asher </strong>during the recreation period. Out of nowhere the apple started changing colors. Jonas blinked and the apple changed to its original state. He tried to tell Asher but he couldn't describe it. Lily wanted to be a birthmother, but her mom told her that is a lazy job. </div><div><br><strong>Vocabulary</strong></div><div>1. Solemn: formal and dignified.<br><br>2.          <description><![CDATA[<div>In Chapter four Jonas started his volunteer hours at a spa. A new character was introduced. Her name is <strong>Larissa</strong>. Jonas also saw his friend <strong>Fiona</strong> working at the spa as well. <strong>Jonas</strong> and <strong>Larissa</strong> talked about their thoughts about being released.          <description><![CDATA[<div>My prediction for the giver is that there is an old man. He lives in a dystopia and gives people stuff to try and make it a utopia. I know that my prediction isn't going to be perfect, but that's only  what I think about the book cover. The cover doesn't have more than an old man on it.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Chapter five Jonas had a dream about bathing his crush named <strong>fiona</strong>.Every morning all the families confess their dreams to one another, it's called the dwelling. Jonas told his parents. Later the parents told him to take a pill. Lily turned into an eight, and she got a buttoned up hoodie and Jonas was getting ready for his job assignment. All of the nines got there new assigned brothers. This was a part of the pain that the elder said he's have during his training. Jonas's family are about to release Gabriel. While Jonas was held Gabriel's back, he stared losing memory of a dream that the giver gave him on a nice sailboat ride. The Giver said they were called grandparents. Jonas also learns about love. At dinner, Jonas asked if their parents if they loved him, the parents said love is not a proper word. Jonas told his first lie to his parents.
