In our  brain we have what is called the fusiform gyrus, and it is used to judge attraction in just a few seconds, and have the brain process it- hence first impressions.

Our brain is immediately drawn to the "golden ratio". We always look for it even without us knowing it and it doesnt always have to do with humans.  What it does is automatically register ratio of measurements of size and shape. 
2. Our brain has preferences and most of the time it is symmetry
3. We share similar views. We are attracted to others who have the same views and tastes and hobbies as us. Also are usually attracted to people who look kind of like us.  
4.I think that average is a factor of attraction because that is for me personally, but i think that attitude has a lot to do with it as well.
