'Bikini Kill believed that if all girls started bands the world would change and encouraged women and girls to become involved within the punk rock scene' Bikini Kill inspires me due to their political involvement in feminism. Bikini Kill was the band that inspired me to get involved with music, not only to get involved but to use my music as a passage to more women in the punk scene and to speak out to them on my own experience and views of living in a male-dominated world.

it was Babes in Toyland that initially inspired Bikini Kill to become involved in the punk scene, but it was the incredibly brave movements of Bikini Kill that inspired Babes in Toyland, bikini kill went out of their way to host gigs, especially for women and to have them voice out their problems with sexism to the rest of the crowd at gigs, creating a safe space for women. Bikini Kill hosting gigs for women only led to the band being seen as a man-hating group according to the media, Bikini Kill received major threats because of this.

Bikini Kill.

Babes in Toyland stands as one of my biggest personal influences, they remain one the biggest names within the feminist punk scene, or 'Riot Grrrl' movement.'Babes in Toyland’s music was mature, incisive, and aggressive. Bjelland’s lyrics sketched out vivid, sometimes violent images that dealt with sex, pain, assault, and anger.' (Ehrenhalt, Lizzie, ND)themes within this movement like misogyny and the societal ideas that women can't be involved within music let alone the punk scene are spoken out against, which I find to be the most impactful for me as I've experienced first-hand misogynistic statements from others stating "I can't play guitar for a punk band as a girl"

(Ehrenhalt, Lizzie, ND)"Babes in Toyland."

Korn was one of the many first bands that got me into metal /nu-metal. it was from then on i was able to branch out into more unique genres of music and sub-genres of the metal scene. Brian Welch, with the stage name Head, was one of the biggest inspirations for me to pick up a guitar, he finds many ways to express creativity through the guitar.
