These students can also destroy the emotional stability of classmates and the teacher. I will try to be intentional to reframe the negative behavior in a positive light. I will also try to change my terminology when thinking about students and their behavior. This is hard to do in the moment!

It is hard for me when I see all the students, but I have noticed that after I have had some of these students for a couple of years that we are building relationships and I notice a big change in most of them. Working with students who have autism has made me practice some of these strategies. I think the strategies can be used with any student with difficult behaviors.
