Tsunamis occur when a earthquake, landslides on the ocean floor, major volcanic eruptions or large meteorites hitting the ocean floor and/or impacts. Tsunamis mostly occur in the Pacific ocean and around Indonesia because the Pacific Rim that borders the ocean has a lot of active submarine earthquake zones. Tsunamis can not be predicted, but once a large earthquake has occurred the PTWC(Pacific Tsunami Warning Center) can forecast the tsunami behavior if it had been created. Ways we can prevent people from losing there lives is to give people more of a warning and to educate people about tsunamis who are at risk. If your are at risk stock up on food, water, and supplies.
