Commonly, these are the rights to free practice of religion, freedom of speech and to the press, and freedom to assemble and to petition. These rights apply to everyone, so it's important they are exercised.

I chose this assignment because it taught me to respect others' rights like how I want my rights to be respected too.

This improves the overall state of the community, making it safer, cleaner, or more enjoyable. Because of this, it's important that people stand to make a difference.

I chose this assignment because this was a time I talked about and stood up to an issue in my community.

Civics is more than just abiding by the laws of your country or state. Civics defines the actual responsibilities that you, the citizen, have in participating in your community. Voting and jury duty are important, though being a citizen means that you have civic rights like freedom of speech, religion, and to protest too. Civics also means that you try to be the best person you can be for yourself and your community. One person can also make a big difference, so you shouldn't be afraid to stand up.

The web 2.0 tools (such as this padlet) were helpful for me to better understand the concepts in this course. They are really powerful for being able to express whatever you want, and each have their own creative options to make them just how you like.

For the next virtual class, I recommend staying on track with assignments to maintain motivation. For me, once my momentum is lost it is hard to get back to max efficiency.
