         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Chemicals such as tear gas, chlorine, phosgene and mustard gas were used by the Germans to defeat their enemies.&nbsp;<br>These war chemicals&nbsp; created a new and complex public health threat that endangered&nbsp; soldiers on the battle field and lots of civilians.<br>The Germans and Allied force used phosgene gas, which causes breathing difficulties and heart failure, also mustard gas that causes enemy's eye irritation and skin blistering.
