I still see the covers of old books and remember the sound of her voice as she read them or the audio cassette I would listen to over and over.  I strongly believe that she planted the love for reading inside of me that still lives on today!

A few favorites were Madeleine L'Engle, Beverly Cleary, Judy Blume, Joan Lowery Nixon, and R.L. During class, I love to share quick excerpts from books that will get kids hooked and wanting to read it. I also have a very active professional Twitter account. At times, I will share what we are reading in class and how it is going. During our Fish in a Tree book club, the girls tweeted out to the author and she responded to us!
