         <title>Dreambox Learning</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Tool:</strong><br>Dreambox Math is a tool designed for students to help boost confidence in math in a fun engaging way. This tool is designed to meet students where they are in math and continue to grow in any area of math. Teachers can differentiate assignments by assigning lessons based on where the student is at. If a student is in third grade the teacher is able to assign lessons in other grade levels as needed, and can adjust at any time. Assignments can be assigned for one week or two weeks. Teachers can also use this tool to assign homework. <br><strong>Use: </strong><br>Students access this highly engaging tool which also has sound for an added support. Students are provided with on the spot feedback when solving problems and provided with examples that work them towards mastery. Students earn tokens while accessing the tool which motivates learning. An added bonus is that students can access the tool at home at no extra cost. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints: <br></strong><em>Representation<br></em><strong>2.1 Clarify Vocabulary and symbols:</strong> The tool embeds support for unknown math language during the lessons. Students are also provided with graphic symbols that can support learning. <br><strong>3.1 Activate or Supply Background Knowledge: </strong>Students are provided with examples problems before and during the lesson. They are also given hints to help the move forward independently. <br><em>Action &amp; Expression<br></em><strong>5.3 Build Fluencies with Graduated Levels of Support:</strong> Students are provided with scaffolds throughout lessons. The lessons gradually progress allowing students to work independently.&nbsp;<br><em>Engagement<br></em><strong>8.4 Mastery Oriented Feedback: </strong>Students get on the spot feedback on their progress. This is a very engaging part of the lessons, as students master concepts they are awarded tokens or badges.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Tool:</strong><br>This is highly engaging way for students to practice math concepts and enjoy learning. Teachers can create individualized lessons or choice boards for students to access independently for more a personalized learning experience. The basic access to this tool is free which makes it even more inviting for teachers to use with students. <br><strong>Use:<br></strong>Students can access the tool through a clickable link provided by the teacher. It can be assigned in google classroom, Schoology, or any platform used by a school. The games are motivating with sound effects for students and age appropriate images. Students can also expand the screen with certain games for a larger view of math games. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints: <br></strong><em>Representation<br></em><strong>3.3 Guide Information, Processing, Visualization:</strong> <br>Students are provided with multiple entry points to each math game. They can choose <em>easy</em> or <em>hard</em> levels to begin. Once they are comfortable at one level they can switch either up or down in levels.<strong><br></strong><em>Action &amp; Expression<br></em><strong>5.3 Build Fluencies with Graduated Levels of Support:</strong> Students can are assigned lessons at their independent level to support them in growing in math concepts and becoming more independent learners. When students have mastered math concepts they can be assigned a different level.&nbsp;<br><em>Engagement<br></em><strong>7.1 Individual Choice &amp; Autonomy:</strong>&nbsp;<br>Students are challenged at an appropriate level where they can build autonomy and independence. Students can adjust settings such as color or backgrounds on certain games. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Tool: <br></strong>With the need for classrooms to be more inclusive this tool provides students with learning difficulties in math the support needed to work with manipulatives in a different way. Teachers can provide students with this tool when they struggle to use actual manipulatives. It provides support with number sense routines that students need to learn early on in their development of math skills. <br><strong>Use: </strong><br>Students can use virtual base ten blocks when learning basic math skills like adding and subtracting. They can also use virtual unifix cubes just like the concrete ones in most elementary classrooms. These are encouraging for students who struggle in bath. There is a pencil and drawing tool students can access to engage them in learning. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints: <br></strong><em>Representation<br></em><strong>1.1 Offer Ways to Customize Information:</strong> Different from actual hand held manipulatives this tool is an alternative for students with disabilities. They can access the online tool and manipulate in a way that is comfortable to the student. The can use drawing tools with a color of their choice or an online pencil tool if they would like to write. <br><em>Action &amp; Expression<br></em><strong>5.2 Multiple Tools for Construction &amp; Composition: <br></strong>Students are not restricted in their learning abilities with the use of these online manipulatives they can be flexible in their thinking using the basic math tools in a personalized way. <br><em>Engagement<br></em><strong>7.3 Minimize Distractions: <br></strong>This tool provides students with a choice in their learning of math concepts. This tool can decrease distractions or frustration with the ease of using the virtual manipulatives. Students are comfortable taking academic risks.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Tool: </strong><br>The research based reading tool provides students with a variety of ways to learn to read and comprehend a variety of texts. Teachers can assign different engaging texts at a students current reading level. They can also assign assessments where students record themselves reading in a comfortable way which captures their true reading abilities. This tool provides teachers with pre-made lesson plans. <br><strong>Use:</strong>&nbsp; <br>Students engage in reading colorful fun stories at their reading level. Students also have the option to listen to books if they choose not to actually read the book. Unfamiliar words within a text are defined for students as well. For students who prefer an actual book, all books on this online platform can be printed and given to students to read. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints: <br></strong><em>Representation<br></em><strong>2.1 Clarify Vocabulary:</strong><em> <br></em>Within certain texts there are embedded glossaries for meanings of terms. Additionally, students can hover over a word and have the meaning of a word read to them. For printed texts and resources students have access to graphic organizers. <br><em>Action &amp; Expression<br></em><strong>4.1 Vary Methods for Response and Navigation:<br></strong>Students can voice record themselves reading and answering questions from an assigned text. Teachers can also display a text on the screen and allow students to use tools to highlight features in a text. <br><em>Engagement<br></em><strong>9.3 Self-Assessment &amp; Reflection:<br></strong>After reading or listening to a text students have an opportunity to answer comprehension questions with immediate feedback on how they scored on answering questions. Teachers can monitor the number of books/minutes students are reading or listening to books. Teachers can also assign individual books or create libraries on certain topics for a student, group, or class. <br><strong>Use: </strong><br>Students can read in any setting with their personalized account. They can search books on topics they are interested in or go to their mailbox and read books that have been assigned to them. Some books have a "read to me" feature where students can enjoy reading. Students can also continue to read from outside of their school setting. <br><strong>UDL Guidelines: </strong><br><em>Representation</em><br><strong>2.4 Promote Understanding Across Languages: <br></strong>Students can access books, videos, audiobooks and music of all topics. This provides an opportunity for students to share their thinking and work collaboratively on a topic/books with their peers. Families are partnered with their child's teacher throughout the learning day. Teachers can update families on exciting things their child is doing or areas that need support from home. <br><strong>Use: </strong><br>Students can also connect on Class Dojo by being added to their classroom on Class Dojo. Teachers assign Dojo points as positive reinforcers and students and families can see their progress. Teachers can provide a list of reinforcers for a certain number of Dojo points students earn. <br><strong>UDL Guidelines</strong><br><em>Engagement</em><strong><br>9.2 Facilitate Personal Coping Skills &amp; Strategies: <br></strong>Positive behavior is modeled through videos from the characters in this tool. They can turn and share after they have accessed the tool about what they understand about a newly introduced word from this tool.
