God is love. God is patience. He has all the patience in the world. He knew we would make mistakes and that’s why He sent His only begotten Son. We aren’t meant to be perfect. The Savior is there to help perfect us. We can’t do it on our own. He didn’t create us to be perfect. He will never give up on us. You shouldn’t give up on yourself either.

God’s love is not conditional. We are in a mortal existence and mortals have come up with the construct that we have to earn love. What would that do for you if you believed His love? He is playing for eternal keeps; you are not expected to be perfect now.

I wish I could say I always feel God’s love, but sometimes it feels very far away. But I have had powerful sacred moments throughout my life where I knew, and did not doubt, that He is real and aware of me and loves me. So I’m holding on because I believe those moments weren’t a mistake on God’s part, even though I’m struggling now.

Having felt that pain before and going to rehab for depression I would say that talking to others like family/friends/ and church leaders is important. In connection to this lesson of justice and mercy I remember recieving only half the Bible, the New Testament half, God's mercy was given to me to me to get through my hardship. Also, a blessing while in rehab. I need to constantly remember I am not alone.
