I provided a link to the adult version, but there is a YA version as well. JUST MERCY is an incredibly powerful book. It fundamentally changed the way I think about the criminal justice system. There is also a movie version (starring Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx) which is equally as good as the book! I highly recommend this title.

The main character is a young boy who knew everything about surviving in the wilderness, but knew nothing about how to survive in normal society. My daughter loved reading about his adventures, but also about the boy learning to traverse everyday relationships. She felt it was an inspiring story.
