I am looking forward to graduating and going out for a celebratory dinner with my family and friends. I also have plans to go to New York to visit my dad for 2 weeks, go on a weekend trip to Orlando with my mom, see a comedy show with my friend, and celebrate my birthday. So, I have a ton of plans for the month of August. I am super excited and ready to spend some time in the sunshine and with friends and family while I navigate a new chapter in my life. Concepts like transformational and servant leadership helped me realize that emotional intelligence and self-awareness are just as important as decision-making skills. I am very excited to get back to working as a tour guide for the university. I stopped working for the majority of the summer to focus on my classes, but with the semester coming to a close, I have time to go back to doing what I love. I would love to be able to live in another country at one point in my life. One of the places that I traveled to on my study abroad last year was Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The city easily stole my heart, and I would love to have the opportunity to go back one day and potentially live there. I have been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for about 4 years. One of my biggest goals is to eventually earn my black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. I don't want ever to quit Jiu-Jitsu. It keeps you active and safe, but also keeps you humble. It is also an outlet for me. I've also made some of my closest friends on the mats.

I never really knew about these theories and models of leadership. I knew that leadership isn't just having power and confidence and telling people what to do, but it really opened my mind to what it could be for me. The course also really helped me to organize leadership in my brain more. I knew there were different types of leadership but I never conceptualized them until now. Between the nonstop responsibilities of business ownership and the rhythm of full-time college coursework, it’s easy to feel stretched thin. This summer has been rewarding but exhausting, and I'm looking forward to having space to just breathe and recharge.

I’m hoping to carve out time for myself, ideally by the pool and in my Bible studies. I want to reconnect with rest, reflection, and restoration. After pouring so much into others, my team, the children, my studies, this pause is a way to refill my own cup. It’s not just about leisure, but about honoring the balance I encourage in others by embracing it myself.
