He believed that a free and democratic Italy would serve as a model to the other nations of Europe<br><br>He was the central figure in the origin of "Young Italy" (1831), a secret revolutionary society to work for a united, republican Italian nation.<br><br>Mazzini's revolutionary vision extended beyond the limited objective of Italian national unity towards the liberation of all oppressed peoples. <br><br>During his exile in Marseille he inspired for his revolutionary activities, was prompted to found a new society because of the repeated failures of revolts led by the <a href="https://global.britannica.com/topic/Carbonari">Carbonar</a>i.</div>]]></description>
