Family's and friends must of been so sad when they all got seperated. 
My thoughts are how those people handled getting there shops broken down and there homes broken into by the Nazi's. It said that 267 synagogues were destroyed and more than 7,000 shops were broken into. It's sad to think about how many people went to concentration camps in just a few days. 
    I think people and other countries  should have stood up and helped the jews. The synagogues were burned and demolished. I believe that this is not the way to deal with anger. You have a right to be mad at people, and just being mad is okay. But if you are destroying other people's property, that crosses the line in the sand.
    What could have been done to stop them? That is a tricky question. If there was a way to make them stop peacefully, I would totally go for that. But barging in and destroying shops, houses, and synagogues is pretty extreme, and it is a lot of trouble to go through. If only the other people in the towns where this was happening had taken matters into their own hands and had tried to stop the Nazis. If there had been enough people rebelling against the nazis, then maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Then everything took a dramatic turn, and completely ruined everything. This act was so sudden, and terrified everybody, if they were Jewish or not. Being Benno, I would be so confused onto why everything was going like this. The beautiful synagogue that you looked at every day and every night, was not burnt to the ground. And a lot of his friends, that gave him scraps and comforted him, we’re now gone.  I can just imagine the lost then I must’ve had, his two best friends Inge and Sophie, we’re now separated. They could no longer be friends because of the difference in there religions. And if only Benno new, the night that he saw ash floating in the air, it could’ve been the remains of people he knew and loved. Watching the documentary video, it was so hard to watch those poor Jewish people being strangled, and hurt by the Nazis. Just imagine walking down the street and seeing that happening. I guess nazi's evil had no limit.Looking at this from the point of Benno can show you just that. And HE'S A CAT. Even he feels sad as his life took a change for the worst. I'm thinking also about the glass, all of it broken. People screaming as the fire and smoke surrounded them from the air while the glass was circling in on them from the ground. I can't believe how aggressive and scary it must of been. While Nazi's riped apart your home and pushed your family around, your friend across the streets house, was untouched.Your confused. As broken window glass flew around scraping your legs, your scared and hurt. Fires all around you,  I wouldn't be able to take all in. It was such a terrifying, scary and sad time for everyone who lived near this chaos. In Hana's suitcase Hana's friends did not want to play with her anymore. In Benno and the Night of Broken Glass Inge did not want to play with Sophie anymore. The Holocaust ruined millions of jewish lives. I think that the people in the neighborhood that weren't jewish should have stood up for their friends. If they did the death toll wouldn't be as high as 6 million people. Then one day, he saw men in tall boots roaming the streets, if I were Benno at that point  would be scared. Everything that happened in that time period scared so many people no matter what the belief was. If I were a cat that roamed the streets, I would be very confused about why they were burning shops and the synagogue. Even though they were burning so many shops, they left some shops untouched. Once this horrible night happened, Benno lost Sophie, the professor and much more. At that point, I would leave that country even if I were not Jewish. Plus, I can't even think about losing my best friends like Inge lost Sophie. If I were Sophie or Inge, I don't think I could just abandon my best friends. I feel like people should have stood up to the Nazis. I know that would get them killed, but if they fought in big mass, they could fight back. I hope that I would be that person who would stand up at the first act unfairness against Jewish people. In the other video that I watched, it was really sad just to watch it. I can't imagine being someone who had to actually watch that with their own eyes. To be honest I do not like watching videos about the Holocaust because sometimes they can be really rough to watch, or maybe they show me too much.
