         <description><![CDATA[<p>Parents take a photo of their child doing something kind at home to share with others at preschool. This can be added to the mural wall.</p><p>Term 2: Adding ‘Becoming a hero’ program. Resource pack developed. The children will be asked, ‘what does safe mean and look like’, who could be safe in your life? Another aspect of learning will be kind acts the children do for others. This can be in photo form or within a drawing. We then place it on our wall, if the child would like to share.</p><p>A message has been sent to all Wild Figs families, regarding the plans for term 2 (17/04/2025).</p><p>This will be developed in collaboration with the children and their families/carers. The children will be introduced to the 4 books in the series, deploring 4 different areas of safety. The children will also be given the opportunity, in small groups or 1:1, depending on how the children will feel about sharing this information. </p><p>This emerging project links in well with the 3 Early Years learning Framework, Outcomes, 1, 2, 3 (located on the initial page of this plan. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Evaluation for term 1</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>This term, the children have been asked to explore friendships at preschool. Why they enjoy the friends they have at preschool (refer to mind map and hire board)</p></li><li><p>The Zones of regulation has been reintroduced, linking these to the EYLF outcomes, 1,2 &amp; 3. Identifying feelings in self and others. This has been through discussions, literacy, identifying he emotions in the characters in a story.</p></li><li><p>Developing more literacy awareness, through an extended discussion, leading us into a different direction from the planning model. The social skills animals in our room, have been extremely important in aiding  an understanding in caring for self and others and how one might feel if they were treated too harshly. </p></li><li><p>A small group of children, in collaboration with myself (Kellie ECT) and Caitlyn (Cameron’s mother), in developing an invitation o others for an animal picnic (linked to the social skills animals). The group came together to discuss a plan and draft for the invitation, depicting their favourite animal. The draft has started and final planning will commerce in term 2. </p></li><li><p>Karen (Director) and I (Kellie ECT) have discussed linking this idea of having a community picnic, into a fundraiser for the ‘Biggest Morning Tea’. Again, supporting children to understand the lens outside their own, helping others in need. </p></li><li><p>The literacy and numeracy scope, has been explored through the Play-based learning opportunities during our indoor/outdoor time. Using the time to scaffold children’s learning through play, has been an immensely rewarding opportunity. The lens of learning identifies with stories during meal times, using construction play to explore mathematical concepts, areas of safety whilst introducing ‘real’ tools to the preschool environment, such as drills, battery operated screw drivers, the trusty hand drill and a saw. This again assists and supports children to understand the safety barriers around tools that would generally be used by adults only. However, many of our children have the opportunity to develop these safety skills in the home. Helping their parents with building projects. And yes, a risk assessment was required; however, a woodwork one had already been developed and this an additional extra. We will continue to explore this wonderful exploration onto creative spaces in terms of 2. </p></li><li><p>Term 2: the children will be given simple tasks to complete at home, such as a pre-writing book and a scissors ✂️ booklet to assist and support fine motor development. This will be targeted more towards children attending school in 2026. However, as an inclusive practice all children will be invited to participate. </p></li><li><p>Term 2 changes (refer to room diary). Continued introduction of whole group times prior to lunch.</p></li><li><p>During W/group, the children have been the opportunity to engage in relaxation provisions, such as namaste and sensory relaxation (wiggle down your back). Then a story is presented. The children will then transition to lunch, using a transitional approach.</p></li><li><p>In introducing formal group times back into our program, we are assisting and supporting children to build the necessary skills to sit, listen and learn in a safe environment.</p></li><li><p>Goals/expectations for the group will be developed over time, such as all children are expected to attend this formal group-time experience. </p></li><li><p>Looking further, the children may be split into two groups, those children enjoying the small group experiences, such as literacy, project planning, extended art provisions linked to literacy interests. The other children may enjoy more hands on approaches to learning, such as tool time or a short story. </p></li><li><p>They will also have indoor, quiet play after lunch, where they have the opportunity to engage in relaxation and low stimulation provisions. The educators will be present and assist and supporting children to children with low stimulating provisions, such as reading, puzzles, and quiet art interests. Then a story children will also have the opportunity to rest if needed, on large cushions. </p></li><li><p>The children will then transition to the outdoor space for more play, before parents pick them up. </p></li></ul>]]></description>

To extend the learning, we will focus on investigating colour changes and experimenting with making paint from a variety of natural materials. The children will explore using soils, leaves, flowers, and fruits to create different pigments.<br>Throughout the process, we will encourage prediction and inquiry by asking questions such as, “What colour do you think it will be?” and “Do you think it will change colour when it dries?” The children will compare the colours when first applied to the colours after drying, observing and discussing any differences they notice.<br>To support this investigation, we will create a “Nature Paint Chart” to record our findings, documenting the materials used, predicted colours, and the final dried results. We will also develop a book to capture our experiments, observations, and create a shared record of our learning journey. </p>]]></description>
