Carolina: Well, I’ve always been fascinated by the aquatic world. I studied biology in college and then specialized in fisheries ecology. Now I’m doing my PhD at the University of Queensland.

Sebastian: What is the focus of your research for your PhD?

Carolina: I’m studying a type of fish that is rare due to overfishing. I’m researching how we can protect and conserve this fish and its habitat.

Sebastian: What do you like most about your job?

Carolina: I love the variety of my job. One day I can be in the lab analyzing samples, and the next day I can be in the field collecting data. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with people from different disciplines and learn from them.
