Learning Targets for the week

I post weekly learning targets in reading and math. As a class, we talk about these target skills before each lesson to ensure the students know what our goals of the lesson are. We call them our "I Can" statements.

Classroom Behavior Goal Example

This is changed out as the students meet our classroom goal. We work together as a class to choose our goal and what incentive we will be working toward. Each month has different things for them to build to earn an award. This encourages the students to synergize to meet their goals together.

Classroom leadership roles give each student a chance to take ownership of our classroom. The roles are rotated out every couple weeks so each student gets a chance to participate in all jobs available.

At the beginning of the year my students learn about our class's mission statement and sign it. I explain to them that this is a promise with our classroom family, and we work hard each day to keep our promise to one another.
