I felt alone for most of the pandemic and I couldn't see anyone for a long time and I still can't now. I also learned family is the most important thing and they will always be there with you through hard times. I was lucky enough to travel to Brazil and see my grandfather. My grandfather was going through cancer and he was doing chemotherapy which led him to being very ill. Whenever we were around him, we had to wear masks in order for him not to get sick. When I went to Brazil to see my family it felt amazing since I had no contact with anyone for a pretty long time. We also went there to Brazil to comfort him since his wife died from Parkinson’s disease. Anyone who is reading this, stay with your family and don't take them for granted. My mother was always updated on the news and made sure that if there is updates, she would tell us. She was especially worried for her mom and dad since they are elderly and a good target for Covid-19. She always bought so many masks and we also had to cancel my birthday and our summer trip to see our family in. Brazil. I was dissapointed at first since I wouldn't be able to do anything over the summer. Later on I realized that she was doing this to protect our family from a deadly disease. Eventually we went to Disney, but my mom was always making sure we washed our hands, had our masks on, etc. My dad on the other hand didn't worry as much as my mom. My mom used to get disgruntled  that my didn't worry that much, but eventually she got used to it. My dad reacted completely different than my mom which was quite surprising since they always react the same way. My three brothers didn't really have much an idea what Covid-19 was since they were three. For example, I wasn't able to see any of my friends or have the birthday I anticipated. I had a drive in party and two of my friends came meanwhile the rest couldn't come. I was a bit disapointed since I invited many people to come and I thought I was going to have an amazing party with so many people. Turns out I was wrong...I thought in a year or so I might be able to come back to school and finally see my friends. Sadly, that didn't happen and will only happen the next school year. Most of my parents childhood friends got Covid-19 and most of them died which made my parents really worried. No matter how many things we did, it never seemed to satisfy my parents we were safe. I was lucky enough to go to Brazil and see the rest of my family. When we were there, we had to wear masks all the time when we were near them and going on the airplane we used face shields. We were lucky enough to not get Covid-19. Although this past year has been rough, the following years will be better and hopefully I will be able to see my friends. Ever since my parents got the vaccine, I feel so liberate. I finally can go outside without being worried and my parents are finally safe.

Nothing is under our control, every situation you don't have control in. You can't speak with anyone or see anyone. This is exactly how life is, it is not because of the virus but it is because we don't have control in anything. Sometimes we believe we can control some things, like I can control my health and what my kids do. A tiny little thing which is a virus, you can't even see. You have to use machines in order to see it, it affected our lives completely. When you think about it, it is not the virus, but everything else is not under control. Life is so fragile.

Grandfather and Grandmother: The COVID pandemic is being impacted our lives in many ways. First of all is the FEAR to die, because we are part of whats is called “group of risk”, since we are more than 70 years old.Other important issue is to follow the mandatory rule to be APART of people, specially of our love ones to avoid contamination. It is really tough not to be together with our family (grandchildren, daughter, son-in-law, and other members). We are missing them, particularly in special occasions like Birthdays, Christmas and New Year Eve, and Thanksgiving Day.The LOST of couple of friends it was also a terrible and unforgettable experience. Every time we remember them... we cry inside.
In order to avoid think about the virus all the time we developed a set of DAILY ACTIVITIES to do together, like physical exercise for example.
Now, with the VACINE, we are seeing the light in the end of the tunnel.
We are crossing our finger to see the majority of the people being received the vaccine in order to comeback to our normal life, as soon as possible.
