Please share a video describing what students can expect from a field placement at your site. To record, select the Plus Sign in the bottom right corner of the screen and select Film.

Field educators are encouraged to ask their current MSW field student(s) to complete the video on their behalf.

What is the nature of your work?
What are the typical interventions used?
Why do you work with MSW students?
What skills can students expect to acquire?

Jericho Road Community Health Center provides high-quality medical care for the whole family — especially people with limited access to medical care, like families living in poverty, refugees, and immigrants. We provide full-spectrum care to all, even those without insurance or the ability to pay.
In addition to providing excellent medical care, we have developed a wide array of community development programs, seeking to address the needs of those we serve more holistically. We offer culturally and linguistically appropriate programming with interpreters of over 24 languages and/or dialects. We actively engage a diverse staff that represents the ethnicities we serve in order to form a bridge of trust with Buffalo's many communities.
The Behavioral Health Team provides individual counseling to the medical patients of Jericho Road. Our team is trained in several trauma treatment modalities and serves our patients in person and via telehealth. We serve children, as well as adults, and work with interpreters for our non-English speaking patients.
We are looking for students interested in a clinical placement where a large focus is placed on the impact of trauma. Students will have the opportunity to observe sessions, work to improve integrative care by interacting with patients on the medical pods, and will lead sessions in the second portion of the internship.
Please contact kenzi.coon@jrchc.org for more information, or check out our website at https://www.jrchc.org/

Our Positive Individuals and Families program serves individuals living with, and families affected by, HIV/AIDS. We need an MSW student to work with our attorneys to assist clients with family stabilization services, end-of-life planning, housing and food insecurity, and identifying community and social services resources. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced legal team that practices in several different areas of law. We also strive to involve our placements with other aspects of our legal services model so that you are exposed to not just our clients from the social work perspective, but also from the standpoint of gathering information and developing a case for a well-rounded experience. Our program provides a $750 stipend covering two semesters. We are located on Main Street in downtown Buffalo. Contact Chuck Case at ccase@ecbavlp.com. Or you can call me at 716-847-0662, ext. 315. We hope to hear from you!
