The ideas that were introduced in this video connect to my life because I am apart of the idea of consumerism because sometimes I want the things that are popular. I think that consumerism is detrimental to life because everybody needs it because people make decisions based on other peoples actions. Consumerism is important in my life because I need it and it will make the people around me better.

In this video the man was talking about how consumerism is kind of taking control of a lot of peoples lives. When we see things that other people have, we automatically want to get that product because f we didn't we would feel left out or missing out. It could be a detriment to the society as a whole if we keep having the attitude of consumerism. A problem it could cause for the society is if people keep buying and buying then there will be no more stuff to buy and then what would we do.

The video showed us how exactly consumerism worked and the psychologically ways it can be used to fit into out agendas. In different ads, the companies will use the biggest celebrities and then use the same ad to post everywhere to make sure anyone and everyone sees it. It is detrimental to society because it can convince people to waste money on things that wont work for them or that they don't need.

We can solve this by ignoring more ads, and disconnect from society every once and a while. We are using up or finite resources to sap all of our food supply dry.

In this video, it's just showing how scary consumerism is. When we aren't buying things we're working hard to get money, just to buy more things. When we don't buy things to stay current, we fall behind, just because of how fast the market and technology is taking off. Commercials and ads are just marketing propaganda, just companies showing off their latest achievement, trying to convince us, life will just be better with said device or new this or that. I tend to stray away from ads, although unavoidable through constant ads on Spotify, in which the only way to avoid ads on Spotify is to pay money to help support the Spotify company. Which is just adding more into the ad and commercial propaganda, and overall into consumerism.
