Before the government had any idea about what was going on around them, it tended to be more "hands off". Many people ended up complaining about it because farmers were being charged an unfair amount of money. So many complained about it that the government decided to step and and be more "hands on". And it has been ever since.

A lot of people settle in the east because that is where all the goods and services were. But once the rail roads started to become bigger and bigger, most people started moving westward. It ended up being an okay idea because now that more people were building houses many towns ans stores started opening up. Many people started making more money because of this.

He was a very important person because he changed the steel industry. Henry designed a machine that turned iron into steel for a very cheap price. With this invention much more steel was being produced. The more steel there is the more rail roads and other helpful things that we need were built much faster.

He is also another very important person because he created the typewriter. With him inventing the typewriter he opened many jobs for many people. And most importantly it opened jobs for women. Women can now work outside of their house which changed the lives of many during the Industrial Revolution.

One new vocabulary word I learned from this unit was Rags to Riches. This term is used to describe any situation. And the situations that you would use this term for would be when a person rises from poverty to wealth, obscurity to fame.

The most interesting thing I learned from this unit would have to be the Bessemer Process. I just found it really cool that someone found around to produce cheap still. Steel was huge back then and it is still is today because it helps us make things fro transportation and other things in life. The Bessemer Process made it much easier for people to buy because it is so cheap because of this invention. With it being invented it changed the world forever.

Back then mostly it was the mean that were rich. And that really makes me bad. It makes me mad because there are just as talented women out there with great ideas. That is way I am happy that now a days it does not matter if you are male or female, you can invent what ever you want and get paid a good amount of money.
