It was involved in fighting for beliefs in slavery and would eventually become a confederate state. It also sent groups of men to fight or gourd northern rivers, grain fields, and railroads.

It was originally a free state and turned into a slave state from bleeding Kansas, which would then lead them to be taken over by the confederates during the civil war.

The reason was to decide who would win, the pro slavery or the anti slavery side, the pro slavery side would make Kansas a slavery state, and the anti slavery would do the opposite.

There was also a battle in Lawrence Kansas that the confederates were trying to take over the city.

The anti slavery and the Kansas Nebraska act made it so Kansas would be a slave state.

The confederates won Lawrence.

Yes because it started the conflict of slavery in the civil war. It also made more conflict with the South and North.

They did not do anything during the war but made the Kansas Nebraska act, and gave many speeches of why slavery and the south was best for the country. But they did end up becoming allies with the union in the civil war.

They unlisted free black men to fight for the union by saying that they would end slavery. They were not a big producer of weapons or ammo and had no organized militia.

He was the only Major General for Kansas during the civil war. He also studied medicine and allied himself with John Brown and James Lane. They did not do anything important other than be the only Major General.

Brigadier General Albert Lindley Lee became a Major in the 7th Kansas Cavalry. He helped capture Corinth, Mississippi. And then commanded the 2nd Brigade in the Calvary Division of the army of the Mississippi.

Bates replies to McDowell’s request for advice about enforcing the Fugitive Slave Law, declaring that no government official can choose to enforce the laws he likes and ignore those he dislikes.
