The concept of television (distance vision) can be traced back to Galileo Galilei and his telescope. However, it was not until 1884, with the invention of the Nipkow Disc by Paul Nipkow, when a relevant advance was made to create a medium. The change that television would bring as we know it today was the invention of the iconoscope of Vladimir Zvorykin and Philo Taylor Farnsworth. This would give way to the completely electronic television, which had a much better refresh rate, greater image definition and own lighting. 

El concepto de televisión (visión a distancia) se remonta a Galileo Galilei y su telescopio. Sin embargo, no fue hasta 1884, con la invención del Disco Nipkow por Paul Nipkow, cuando se hizo un avance relevante para crear un medio. El cambio que traería la televisión como lo conocemos hoy fue la invención del iconoscopio de Vladimir Zvorykin y Philo Taylor Farnsworth. Esto daría paso a la televisión completamente electrónica, que tenía una tasa de actualización mucho mayor, mayor definición de imagen e iluminación propia.
